38. How is a lip tie treated?
Lip Tie Treatment

A lip tie can often be treated with a simple, quick procedure called a frenectomy, where the tight tissue connecting the upper lip to the gums is gently released.
Here’s what you can expect:
-The procedure is usually fast and minimally uncomfortable
-We use gentle techniques, sometimes with a laser, to minimize bleeding and speed healing
-Most children handle it very well and can return to normal activities quickly
-After the procedure, we may give simple exercises or stretches to help the lip move freely and prevent the tissue from reattaching
Not every lip tie needs treatment — we evaluate each child individually to determine whether a frenectomy is necessary based on feeding, oral development, and dental health.
